Photographer Mikiya Takimoto was cinematographer on this film just like he was for "Like father, like son". This book contains photos taken by Takimoto during the filming process, and just like the film fully captures the irreplaceable time woven by the wonderful acting of the sisters and the beautiful seasons of Kamakura. The book also has scenes that didn't make it into the final cut such as the four sisters napping on the porch of their home, or the eldest sister Sachi cutting the youngest sister Suzu's hair. It captures the daily life of the sisters to such a degree one almost forgets the images are from a film. Another great thing about the book is the thorough craftsmanship that went into it, just like the film.
