Since childhood, Takimoto has explored themes such as the relationship between the universe and the Earth, humanity and nature, and the visible and invisible worlds. Inspired by early experiences observing the night sky, he has developed a distinctive photographic practice through acclaimed series including LAND SPACE, GRAIN OF LIGHT, LUMIÈRE, and PRIÈRE. Created specifically for the museum's seaside setting, the exhibition premieres Takimoto's new series, LUNATION, structured around the lunar cycle from new moon to full moon. Through photographs of the sea, celestial movement, and the faint light reflected on the water's surface, the exhibition evokes the vast dimensions of time and space that connect the rhythms of the cosmos with the origins of life on Earth. With the full cooperation of the museum, designed by Le Corbusier, Takimoto was permitted to photograph the museum’s interior and rooftop, areas that are normally off-limits to photographers. He captured the interweaving of the fascinating architecture, space, and light from his artist’s perspective. 映画「秒速5センチメートル」のSpecial Visualを撮影しました。監督・奥山由之さんの発案により映画の内容に合わせ、すれ違う様々な時間を多重露光することで１枚のフィルムに露光しました。I photographed the Special Visual for the film “5 Centimeters per Second.”
Conceived by director Yoshiyuki Okuyama, the image was created in response to the film’s narrative by exposing multiple, intersecting moments of time onto a single frame of film through multiple exposure.
