The air wafting through the venue, its enveloping tranquility, represent interwoven threads of time spent here by the former Asakura family, and also the months and years that will continue to accumulate into the future. I curated the exhibition with the concept of Japan’s ‘Wa’ [harmony] at its core, believing that resonance with the space was essential for them to coalesce.
