2006年より活動している『ゼラチンシルバーセッション』は、銀塩写真で表現することの楽しさ、面白さを多くの人に知ってもらい、デジタルとフィルムそれぞれに異なる特徴を持つ表現手段の選択肢として、銀塩写真技術や機材、フィルム、印画紙などを次世代に繋いでいくことを目的とした活動です。今回はスピンオフ企画としてGELATIN SILVER SESSION SPIN-OFF PROJECT 2023「写真への手紙」と題し、7⼈の写真家（井津建郎、勝倉崚太、小林紀晴、瀧本幹也、田中仁、ハービー・山口、広川泰士）と15 名の東京⼯芸⼤学 芸術学部 写真学科の学⽣により銀塩資材を使⽤した「作品」、銀塩写真への思いを記した「⾔葉/⼿紙」、そして銀塩資材にまつわる「研究」の3 つで構成する展覧会を開催。2023年3月3日(金)ー3月8日(水) 11：00ー20：00（最終日18：00まで） 会期中無休 会場：AXIS Gallery 東京都港区六本木5−17−1 AXISビル4F 入場無料Running since 2006, the GELATIN SILVER SESSION is a project that aims to put the next generation in touch with silver halide photography techniques, equipment, film, and photographic paper, as an alternative expressive means with different characteristics to both digital and film, and to bring the interest and enjoyment of photographic expression in silver halide photography to wider audiences. GELATIN SILVER SESSION SPIN-OFF PROJECT 2023: Letters to Photographs is an exhibition comprising 3 elements: Works, by seven photographers (Kenro Izu, Ryota Katsukura, Kisei Kobayashi, Mikiya Takimoto, Jin Tanaka, Herbie Yamaguchi, and Taishi Hirokawa) and 15 students from the Department of Photography, Faculty of Arts at Tokyo Polytechnic University using silver halide materials; Words/Letters, which record thoughts about silver halide photography; and Research, concerning silver halide materials.

the whisky craftsmanship 100th WHISKY SUNTORY サントリーウイスキー100周年の新聞広告を撮影しました。「100年はまだプロローグ。」というコピーにサントリーの掲げる道筋がみえます。時が味わいや深みにもなるウイスキー。太陽ののぼりはじめの美しい朝日を、琥珀色のウイスキーごしに撮影しました。寒い冬の早朝、キーンとする空気の中、海を望むロケーションでの撮影となりました。I shot the newspaper ads for Suntory’s 100th anniversary of whisky making: “the whisky craftsmanship—100th WHISKY SUNTORY” Suntory reveals the path forward it has set out in the advertising copy “Hyakunen wa mada prologue.” (“The first 100 years were just the prologue.”) With whisky, time turns into flavor and also depth. I photographed the beautiful morning sun, about to rise behind amber whisky. I shot it at a location overlooking the sea in crisp air early on a cold winter morning.
マクドナルド家族と一緒に。FAMILY「旅の前の朝マック」篇。旅行に出かける日の早朝に食べる朝マック、親にとってはいつか巣立っていく子どもとの貴重な瞬間でもある。母親役の優香さんが家族４人で出かける日の朝を愛おしくまた微笑ましく表現されています。車に装着し複数台のカメラで撮影された富山の実景をバーチャルスタジオで再現しました。どうぞご覧ください。McDonald’s Kazoku to Issho-ni (“Together with the Family”) The FAMILY “Morning Mac Before a Trip” commercial. The Morning Mac you eat early in the morning on the day you head off on a family trip are valuable moments for parents before the children leave the nest. Yuka portrays the mother so lovingly on the morning of the day the family of 4 head off, it warms your heart. We used a virtual studio to replicate actual scenery in Toyama shot using a number of cameras attached to the car. Please take a look.

It’s in the Otona Elevator series with Satoshi Tsumabuki interviewing various people, this time, pianist Kyohei Sorita. Delicate piano melodies and meticulous performances make this episode resonate with a breadth and depth beyond the usual Otona Elevator perspectives. Please take a look.
是枝裕和監督、脚本 坂元裕二、音楽 坂本龍一 2023年6月2日公開の映画『怪物』の第一弾ポスタービジュアルを撮影しました。怪物という言葉からはおよそ想像し難い写真には様々な仕掛けを施しています。子供と怪物という赤い文字、不安や不穏な空気、内面を表すようなビジュアルに引き込まれるような方法を探しました。I shot the first round of poster visuals for the film Kaibutsu, (“Monster”), due for release on June 2, 2023, directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, scripted by Yuji Sakamoto, with music by Ryuichi Sakamoto. I devised various techniques for the photos, images that wouldn’t readily come to mind with the word “kaibutsu.” I found ways of drawing viewers into the visuals, visuals that represent internal worlds, an air of uncertainty and menace, children, and “monster” in red letters.
